Naval special armaments
Write an introduction to the article in 2-3 small paragraphs. Briefly tell us about the history of the development and combat using the weaponry and also about its features. Compile a list of air, ground, or naval vehicles that feature this weapon system in the game.
Tell us about the tactical and technical characteristics of the torpedo.
Describe the type of damage produced by this type of torpedo (high explosive, splash damage, etc)
Give a comparative description of torpedoes that have firepower equal to this weapon.

Describe situations when you would utilise this torpedo in-game (vehicle, pillbox, base, etc)
Summarise and briefly evaluate the weaponry in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark pros and cons as a list.

Cons:
Successor to the 450 mm Mle 1918, the 550 mm Modèle 1919 was developed and built by the Naval Dockyard at Toulon in two versions: More common, used on larger vessels 550 mm Mle 1919D (D standing for Distance), which was optimised for range and had two modes: GV (Grande Vitesse) of 6,000 m at 35 knots, and PV (Petite Vitesse) of 14,000 m at 25 knots. And a shorter, designed for torpedo boats, 550 mm Mle 1919V (V standing for Vitesse) similarly with two modes: 2,000 m at 43 knots and 4,000 m at 35 knots.
The 550mm Mle 1919V used 238 kg picric acid warhead, which could easily be detached for the time when the torpedo was in storage, and then quickly attached once the threat emerged, reducing associated risks, or even allowing to dump warhead overboard in case of a fire.
Depth, speed and gyroscope settings could set by the operator of the torpedo tube, without any need for to physically access the torpedo itself, allowing instant adjudgements as the combat conditions changed.
The design was replaced by a vastly superior 550 mm Modèle 1923DT.
